This is my attempt at a mind-map to cover Unit 1 Statistics and Number– Data Collection. Mind-maps are highly subjective and, if you asked 100 different people studying Data Collection to prepare a mind-map, you would get at least 100 different ones!
I think they are a useful device to help you remember the key points. They are especially useful as revision notes. The chapter on Data Collection is 18 pages, so its helpful to condense these 18 pages down to one page. The use of colours and lines and arrows to highlight connections and differences helps to fix facts and techniques in your mind.
You might find it helpful to prepare your own mindmaps. It’s no substitute for attempting practice questions but it is a different type of activity that is a break from dry text-books and question papers. You can also apply your imagination and creative skills to the very logical subject of Maths.
