MindMap 1 — Unit 1 Statistics and Number– Data Collection

This is my attempt at a mind-map to cover Unit 1 Sta­tis­tics and Num­ber– Data Col­lec­tion. Mind-maps are highly sub­jec­tive and, if you asked 100 dif­fer­ent peo­ple study­ing Data Col­lec­tion to pre­pare a mind-map, you would get at least 100 dif­fer­ent ones!

I think they are a use­ful device to help you remem­ber the key points. They are espe­cially use­ful as revi­sion notes. The chap­ter on Data Col­lec­tion is 18 pages, so its help­ful to con­dense these 18 pages down to one page. The use of colours and lines and arrows to high­light con­nec­tions and dif­fer­ences helps to fix facts and tech­niques in your mind.

You might find it help­ful to pre­pare your own mindmaps. It’s no sub­sti­tute for attempt­ing prac­tice ques­tions but it is a dif­fer­ent type of activ­ity that is a break from dry text-books and ques­tion papers. You can also apply your imag­i­na­tion and cre­ative skills to the very log­i­cal sub­ject of Maths.
